Jana works in a marketing agency and is in a relationship with her boss, Pavel. Jana is expecting him to propose soon, but that’s the last thing Pavel wants, and when he finds out that Jana’s father is seriously ill and selling his sawmill in the remote Beskydy region, he buys it and puts Jana in charge of running it. So Jana has to swap her uneventful life in Prague for an unfamiliar environment of hills and forests.

Completely out of her depth, Jana immediately makes a series of disastrous decisions, including firing Karel, an unconventional lumberjack who’s actually the mainspring of the entire operation. When Jana realises she’s made a terrible mistake, she desperately tries to get Karel back.
